Skin aging is characterized by two types of manifestations that usually appear simultaneously. The deterioration of the superficial layers of the skin causes the appearance of spots and fine wrinkles. At the same time, there is thinning and disorganization of the supporting tissues (dermis and adipose tissue), resulting in deep wrinkles and sagging.
SCULPTRA - THE TREATMENT
Any facial rejuvenation treatment should begin by restoring the structure and elasticity of the deep tissues of the face. Until recently, this goal was unattainable for patients who did not wish to resort to surgery.
The mechanism of action of Sculptra is based on skin renewal at the cellular level by stimulating the progressive formation of new collagen. In practice, treatment with Sculptra provides a clear clinical improvement without the need to undergo conventional surgery.
The active ingredient in Sculptra is Poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic (non-animal) substance, so no allergy test is required before treatment. Lactic acid polymers have been used for many years in absorbable sutures and are characterized by being non-toxic even in large amounts in the body.
Sculptra is injected into the dermis through small infiltrations; subsequently, the product induces the formation of new collagen naturally and progressively, so that the patient perceives a better appearance gradually.
SCULPTRA - AFTER THE TREATMENT
It is recommended to massage the treated areas for 2 minutes, 2 times a day for 2 weeks. It is possible to resume daily activities immediately. The use of photoprotectors is recommended after treatment. There is no problem using dermocosmetic products or makeup.
SCULPTRA - THE RESULT
Several sessions (usually 3) are required to obtain the desired aesthetic result. Once the treatment is completed, the results are very long-lasting, more than two years. Maintenance sessions can be performed after that period. Sculptra is gradually and completely eliminated, leaving no residues in the body.
