MOVICOL medicine for the treatment of constipation.

20 unflavored sachets

INDICATIONS:

MOVICOL contains an osmotic laxative. Water is drawn into the intestine and increases the volume of the stools.

Symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults.

It is also used in cases of severe constipation that result in an accumulation of feces in the rectum.

COMPOSITION:

Each MOVICOL sachet contains the following active ingredients.

Macrogol 3350 . 3.12g

Potassium chloride . 46.60 mg

Sodium chloride 350.70 mg

Sodium bicarbonate 178.50 mg

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Movicol should not be used in cases of: inflammatory bowel disease, obstruction that predisposes to intestinal occlusion, abdominal pain of unknown cause.

DOSAGE:

Chronic constipation:

Adults: 1 to 2 sachets per day in the morning, dissolve the sachet in a glass of water. The laxative effect occurs between 24 and 48 hours after taking the medicine.

Treatment for constipation with MOVICOL usually does not last more than two weeks, but it can be repeated if necessary. As with all laxatives, prolonged use is generally not recommended.

In the treatment of constipation, adjunctive measures are recommended: a diet rich in fiber, fluid intake, regular physical activity, and time to go to the bathroom.
