Melaxose is a medicine presented in the form of an oral gel. It is indicated in adults for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
This medicine, which contains laxatives, has a dual function. It hydrates the intestine while increasing stool volume thanks to the action of lactulose.
The presence of paraffin oil allows it to lubricate the colon while softening the stool. Generally, its action appears 6 to 8 hours after intake.
Melaxose contains 2 active ingredients:
Lactulose
Special solidified paraffin oil that includes petroleum jelly and liquid paraffin.
The other components are aspartame, cholesterol, lactic acid, bixin oil, mandarin essential oil, lemon essential oil, and sweet orange essential oil.
HOW TO TAKE MELAXOSE GEL?
Melaxose gel is for oral administration. To take it, be sure to follow the instructions in the leaflet or those of your doctor or pharmacist.
Usual dosage
For attack treatment, the usual dose is 2 to 3 teaspoons per day. For maintenance treatment, it is 1 to 3 teaspoons per day.
As for the duration of treatment, it varies according to symptoms. In case of constipation, do not exceed 8 days of treatment without medical advice.
