INDICATIONS

Fortasec is a medicine used to reduce liquid stools or diarrhea by decreasing intestinal movements and secretions. 

COMPOSITION

Fortasec 2 mg 20 capsules is an antidiarrheal medicine whose active ingredient is loperamide hydrochloride. It also contains lactose monohydrate, talc, magnesium stearate and colloidal silicon dioxide.


DIRECTIONS FOR USE


How to take the capsules?

The medicine is taken with a full glass of water.

The recommended dose varies depending on age:

  • In adults 2 capsules as an initial dose followed by 1 capsule after each diarrheal stool. The maximum daily dose is 8 capsules.
  • In children 12 years or older 1 capsule as an initial dose followed by 1 capsule after each diarrheal stool. The maximum daily dose depends on weight: a maximum of 4, 5, 6, 7 capsules from 27, 34, 40 and 47 kg, respectively.

How long does the effect of Fortasec last?

If no improvement is noticed after 2 days of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.
