Hyalgan  The active substance is a specific fraction HYALGAN purified hyaluronic acid extracted from rooster combs. This natural polysaccharide is present in the synovial fluid and the fundamental substance of cartilage. The viscosity of the synovial fluid is determined and it is involved in the metabolism of aggregated cartilage proteoglycans and somewhat improves experimental osteoarthritis.
